If you arrive later to Tbilisi and have free time in the evening, you can use the time to walk and explore old part of Tbilisi in the evening time. not only is Tbilisi mesmerizing in the daylight but also in the evening with night lights illuminating capital city and giving you a whole different impression.
Your Evening Tbilisi Walking Tour starts with newest Attractions nearby “Konka” (Old Trolley) to its first destination unique clock tower builtIn 2010 by Rezo Gabriadze next to the Marionette Theatre.  From the tower, decorated with hundreds of tiles, Every hour an angel comes out to ring the bell with a small hammer.

 

There is a small mechanical puppet theatre inside the tower and twice a day at noon and at 7pm you can see the show – “The Circle of Life”.
Continue exploring Tbilisi by walking to the Bridge of Peace, built over the River Mtkvari (Kura) by Italian Architect Michele De Lucchi. The bridge opened in 2010, is one of the most popular picturesque places in Tbilisi. 

 

Take a stroll in Rike park, located on the left bank of the Kura (Mtkvari). It is an artistically appointed park. if seen from a bird’s eye view . the whole park creates a large-scale map of Georgia, as well as the pathways forming the borders of various regions of Georgia. Park offers attractions like Giant Chessand large white Grand piano, for children playgrounds, artificial climbing walls , dancing fountains and children’s maze.

 

Among the sites you will visit Metekhi Plateau  where the founder of Tbilisi, King Vakhtang Gorgasali, erected in VI c the fort and the church which served also as a king’s residence;
Hence comes the name of the church Metekhi, dating back to the 12th century, now overlooking Old Tbilisi with its mesmerizing statue of the king Vakhtang Gorgasali, builder of Tbilisi.

 

From Rike park go with the cable car to Narikala Fortress, an ancient fortress first built in IV c and time by time over centuries destroyed and rebuilt over and over, Most of the existing fortifications date from the 16th and 17th centuries. Lastly renovated in 1996 still standing strong and giving unforgettable view of old Tbilisi no matter of day or night.

 

From fortress you will walk down to visit Abanotubani, the name translates as bath district , is the oldest part of Tbilisi and is considered as a place of  the first settlements and as a place from the legend of Tbilisi.

 

Continue your evening walk in Tbilisi on Meidani square to Shardeni pedestrian street, those places are awake and lively full of cafes, restaurants and bars, where you can relax and enjoy Georgian cuisine. 

 

Tour ends on the Liberty square with visiting St George’s Statue, dedicated to the freedom and independence of the Georgain nation.
